In your absence, I often looked at my hand, wondering why it is not with yours. During those moments, I grew to realize how strange it is that the heart... is just like the hand.

...when opened can feel others, touch others, move others.
...when closed can hide things, protect things.
...when forced on others can give pressure, give pain.
...when gentle to others can give comfort, give security.

...can pull others, sometimes back, sometimes near.
...can push others, sometimes forward, sometimes away.
...can lift weight, and carry burdens.
...can hold on, and let go.
The heart, like the hand,
...can get tired.
...can get weak.
...can get wounded.
...can get scarred.
But the heart, like the hand,
can prove to be strong when needed.
One day it will be your heart, and your hand, that I ask for as I kneel before you.
For one day I hope that our hearts shall be together, like our hands, on that day, 'till forever.
